Now superceded by 61340-5-1

IEC 61340-5-1: 1998

Protection of electronic devices from electrostatic phenomena - General requirements

Has the status of Technical Report. Developed by the International Electrotechnical Committee TC101 Electrostatics to foster world standardisation of ESD prevention measures.

It is currently planned to replace this document with a full world standard document at the end of 2004.

IEC TC101 information pages, publications and workprogramme

IEC 61340-5-2: 1999

Protection of electronic devices from electrostatic phenomena - User Guide

User Guide for use with IEC 61340-5-1. Gives a considerable amount of additional technical guidance to support implementation of 61340-5-1.

It is currently planned to replace this with a user Guide to accompany the full world standard document at the end of 2004.
